Lower Slaughter Manor : Winner of Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Award
Posted on 27/10/2008
Lower Slaughter Manor, 17th Century country house located in the picturesque village of Lower Slaughter in the Cotswolds and part of the von Essen private collection of hotels, is delighted announce that it has been ranked the second best UK hotel in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler annual Readers’ Choice Awards, with an almost perfect score of 94.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers Choice Survey is the largest independent poll of consumers’ preferences in the U.S. This year, 32,633 readers voted.
“These awards celebrate the destinations, lodgings, and modes of transportation that manage to exceed our expectations,” said Condé Nast Traveler Editor in Chief Klara Glowczewska. “The Readers’ Choice Awards, with over 32,000 readers voting, are a credit to the worldly expertise of our readers — passionate travelers for whom no island is too remote, no city too challenging, and no hotel too untested.”
General Manager, Andrew Thomason, says of the award, “This is a fabulous accolade for all of us at the hotel. It is real people who have recognised and are rewarding our efforts to ensure that every guests’ stay is memorable. The American market is an important one for us here at Lower Slaughter Manor. We are immensely proud to be among the top 2 favourite UK hotels, especially so being voted in by the consumers, and as we were only beaten to the top spot by 0.1 point we’ll continue working hard to make the number one slot next year!”
A magical ‘Chateau in the Cotswolds’ where history, stately architecture and period features blend perfectly with the ‘über’ cool of the finest in contemporary interior design, Lower Slaughter Manor has a warm and inviting feel. The unique character of the hotel has been enhanced with the recent refurbishment of all guest rooms and public areas and with luxurious bedrooms, cosy lounges, delectable dishes and an impeccable style throughout, this is the ideal retreat for the discerning and cosmopolitan traveller.
Renowned Head Chef, David Kelman creates and prepares delicious dishes for guests to enjoy in the award-winning restaurant, acclaimed as one of the most superbly designed and most comfortable in the Cotswolds.
